The end of our RV road trip is near but there are still a few spots we have yet to try in the Panhandle.

My husband and I have been on a 10 day long RV road trip through the South and our last stop was the Panhandle. Our campsite was in Alabama and our destination was right on the Florida Alabama line. Being Kenny Chesney fans, we were curious what this place that he sang about was and when we looked it up, the Flora-Bama was an extremely famous beach bar right on the state line.

We toured around the property and started the afternoon with a couple cocktails. Of course all named after Kenny Chesney songs. I got “Island Girl” and my husband “Chillaxification.” At this point I just had to ask the bartender (who was extremely nice!) whats with that and if the owner and Kenny were friends. She said they were good friends and are neighbors in the islands. So that explains that why Kenny’s line of rum was featured everywhere as well. Side note, we actually really like his Blue Chair Bay rum.

We made our way accross the street where the marina and restaurant were and after taking some pictures and finding out that all the boat rentals were booked for the whole weekend, we decided to grab a bite to eat.

I got the snapper po boy and my husband the shrimp.
The food was decent, seafood was fresh and the quality was not “tourist trap bad” like you would expect in bigger tourist attraction areas, however the portions were sorta small.
